The Giving Man Pledge, launched this year in conjunction with Roy Spence of GSD&M, is simply about making Austin a better place to live through a personal pledge. That pledge can be volunteerism, donation of talent or financial resources, smiling more at strangers, spending more time with the ones you love, taking care of our natural resources etc…the list can go on and on. What makes this pledge unique is that it’s really about what YOU think would make Austin a better place to live. Make a pledge. Follow through. It’s just that simple. Then join us each month for a Giving Man Happy Hour where we can get together to share and celebrate our impact.

This year I pledged to start a running and exercise program for kids in impoverished areas who need an outlet other than the usual team sports. I’m going to teach them to run long distances, exercise and have fun doing so. The only funds collected will be donations. Donations collected are being given to Team Future – which helps to start programs such as this one in areas around our city (and others in the country).
Our future is in our kids. If we can teach them how to live healthy lives, regardless of their current life situations, I believe it will help to improve some of our neighborhoods, and decrease the hate. I grew up in DC, and have been in the skids. Now I can give back with my skills and teach kids something it took me way too long to learn.

Answers is clogged with the stupidest people capable of using the internet.Some memorable questions include “How do I scan a mirror and use it as my background”, “Where can I find scuba-diving equipment for my horse” and “I heard on TV that there’s a war in Georgia, when do we evacuate” (The person lived in the state Georgia of the US, the war was in the country Georgia halfway across the world.) It’s also likely that a lot of the people there are being asses on purpose.Yeah, this post’s main purpose was just to rant on Yahoo! Answers ) But I think our reputation is more on being ignorant and too prideful. Not to mention kurakot.
I am really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility problems? A few of my blog readers have complained about my blog not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any ideas to help fix this issue?

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
